Also in the classroom, if you are lucky you may see a problem-solving meeting. Conflicts between students may be addressed, if the children desire, in a class meeting. The whole class will brainstorm solutions, and usually come up with a few that are acceptable to the various parties. It seems simple, but it's really pretty intense because you're talking about strong feelings. One really gets the vibe, though, that the kids really care about each other and want to solve the problem. I think that helps as much as any solution.
